Atlantic City Casinos Can Open and The Party Starts July 2nd: Cool Story Bro

My home base is back online next week. Atlantic City, New Jersey, and their gambling commission have authorized several casinos to reopen. But the guidelines prohibit a great deal of the fun. So when it comes to getting away, weigh your options when planning your trip.

I have a love affair with AC. I’ve spent more time here than any other vacation destination – possibly work destination, as well 😉 AC has always been the place my family and then friends have chosen as our go-to adult getaway when you can’t getaway too far. We dress up and drink at the bar to people watch, huddle around slot machines, eat big table dinners, scream across the casino to embarass each other, chat up people in the lobby and dance-like-no-one-is-watching-even-though-everyone-is-watching-because-there-is-no-music-playing.

It would be a no-brainer AC would be our first trip as soon as they open, right? Well, not exactly. Given the current COVID state of affairs, the parameters casinos are enforcing pretty much makes everything we listed above an impossibility.

AC casinos are requiring facemasks in all places, social distancing, limited dining capacity, limited entertainment venues (to discourage large number gatherings), limited in room services to limit possible exposure and a number of other restrictions that may be neccessary but really limit how one can “let go.”

So for now, The RF Crew is on hold for AC parties. I’m sure some of us (ME) will still go down and play a little bit just to say hi to the old machines and tables. Might even catch a meal with a shawrtie, who knows? But for the most part, until we can get kicked out of a lounge for exposing our privates as oppesed to exposing our faces, we’ll be on the sidelines, waiting.

Fingers crossed this madness subsides and we can all go back to killing ourselves through our own manifestations. See you soon, my love.
